Rigveda and Proto Indo European Gods

Indra is often considered the son of Lord Dyaus Pita (also known as Dyaus, Dyaus Pitar, or Sky Father) and Goddess Prithvi (Earth Mother). Dyaus Pita is associated with the sky and is considered the divine father of the gods, while Prithvi is associated with the earth and is considered the divine mother.

Indra is considered one of the most prominent and powerful deities in Proto Indo European Folklore. He is often depicted as the king of the gods, the lord of thunder and rain, and the protector of the gods and humans against evil forces.
