M. Govindan (Babaji and the 18 Siddha Kriya Yoga Tradition)

Claims: Govindan states that Babaji’s birth name is “Nagaraj” and that Babaji’s teachings were passed to him through Yogi Ramaiah.
Issues: There is no historical evidence that predates Govindan’s claims about Babaji. No mentions of “Nagaraj” are found in any pre-1991 records. Govindan’s legitimacy as a direct disciple of Yogi Ramaiah is also questioned within the Kriya Yoga community due to disputes over his commercialization of the tradition (Mahavatar Babaji – Hist…).
Refuted by: Lack of independent historical verification, and no earlier texts or traditions mention the name “Nagaraj.”
