Jansankalp Foundation (Sankalp) idea originated in 2005. Balaji and Harini, who studied together in the mid-1990s in Anantapur District of Andhra Pradesh, started this with a clear intent to stay connected to their roots and give back in a structured way.
Along with Balaji and Harini, the initiative has always been equally supported by Anand, along with their classmates like Nagaraj and many others. Though most of them migrated out of the state, they continued to stay connected to their villages, districts, and India as a whole, consistently contributing in different ways.
Amit Bhai joined the Jansankalp family with a strong intent to support MedOnGo and contribute to Primary Care. He has extended significant support personally, financially, and by spending considerable time across many efforts.
Needless to say, the contributions of Puneet Gurnani and Shri Deepak Gurnani ji (father of Puneet Gurnani) have been very important. While originally part of MedOnGo, they have been involved in all ways and continue to support without taking any official positions.
This is a family-driven organization. It started with a focus on the rural poor and gradually expanded to the urban poor, while also supporting social impact organizations. The foundation has always remained close to the founders, their families, and their extended circles.
Jansankalp has made impact in uplifting lives through EdTech and HealthTech. In EdTech especially, Anand has been leading with a vision to make 100K people employable, and has already crossed 10K. This initiative is currently headquartered in Dallas.
Jansankalp works to support the educational, economic, cultural needs, welfare, and wellbeing of people across India, irrespective of caste, creed, race, sex, language, or religion. With a special focus on economically weaker sections and communities living below the poverty line.
With the blessings of their parents and support from friends and family, the journey has continued with strong values.
Jansankalp Foundation was formally registered as a Section 8 company under the Companies Act, 2013, India in the year 2021. The organization was formed with the vision to scale its efforts and impact.
Jansankalp is working towards all-round rural development and community building, with the goal of enabling villages to become self-reliant. The work spans across health, education, environment, culture, and agricultural sustainability, while preserving the Dharmic ethos of the roots they come from.
Jansankalp has never taken external funding. All activities are self-funded by the individuals mentioned above and their immediate families. Neither the organization nor the families claim any tax benefits for these contributions.
