About Shri Lalit Mohan Negi ACP, Delhi Police

Shri Lalit Mohan Negi is the eldest son of Late Sri Chander Singh Negi.

Sri. Lalith Mohan Negi's family like every other family of that time depended on the earnings of the leader of the house, however we were very fortunate as his father had a stable job in Delhi.

Sri. Lalith Mohan Negi's got enrolled in DAV School, Daryaganj, Delhi and studied there till class 5.  Later joined Govt. Boys Sr. Secondary School, Kalkaji, Delhi and completed his primary education there. Later he did his Graduation from Shaheed Bhagat Singh College, Delhi University. {1981-84}. During this time family shifted to their 1st house in Sheikh Sarai along with his mother Mrs. Jay Devi  and uncles. Both his sisters were married at this point of time.

During this time my family tried their luck in a grocery store which didn’t turn out to be profitable hence was shut down. Then a type writing institute was opened which again didn’t reap enough profits to take care of the family.

Sri. Lalith Mohan Negi joined Ministry of Commerce and Industry in 1986 and worked there for about 18 months and also started preparing for SSC Exams. It was in 1989 he cleared the Selection Exams and Joined Delhi Police as a Sub Inspector. Currently he is an ACP in Special Cell, Delhi Police and has been awarded President Police Medal, Gallantry Medal and Medal for meritorious service.

The family from generations were socially very active in our village and neighbouring areas. They contributed in making a school in Kolakhal named Janta High School and named of Sri. Lalith Mohan Negi' Grand Father Late Mr. Jawahar Singh Negi. He was the 1st president of the school. Later Sri Chander Singh Negi along with his colleagues and other villagers decided to make a dispensary which would help the villagers in getting first aid and basic medicines. Needless to say, even today the village wasn’t well connected to the other cities where people could get medical relief. THE Negi family had such forethought and gave importance not just to family but also for wellbeing of the society even with their humble earnings and spent their savings, time and energy on Primary Care and Primary Education.

During our time in Sheikh Sarai Late Sri Chander Singh Negi joined other organizations and Groups and built a well-knit circle of Uttarakhand people in the capital. They organized trips to holy places like renowned temples and Haridwar. This was the contribution of this great family to the nation and more specifically lost word of Dev Bhoomi which was totally neglected.

He was also a member of Shri Barsund Dev Mandir Nirman Samiti, an organization of our local deity and worked for the development of the mandir in our village. He was also part of other social organizations like Kolagad Vikas Samiti Delhi, Kolagad Navyuvak Ramleela Committee, Kolakhal Junior High School (Now Janta Inter College), Normal Samiti Delhi, Kolakhal Prathmik Swasthya Upchar Kendra for the betterment of the people of Kolagad and neighbouring areas. He was also a leading member of Garhwal Hiteshani Sabha in Delhi working towards the social welfare of the Garhwali community.

He also enrolled himself in St. John Ambulance brigade - a health workers voluntary organization. He also volunteered in various govt. hospitals like the Safdarjung hospital, Delhi and Irwin Hospital, Delhi (now Jai Prakash Narayan Hospital) during weekends.
